Green Zone Movie Review

| 28 March 2010
Directed by Paul Greengrass, Greenzone is a very exciting piece. Matt Damon delivered his role excellently owing to his experiences in war movies. In this Greenzone movie review, we tend to link political decisions during Bush administration from fiction to reality. The questions asked in watching the movie could be: Is it real? Did Bush did that? What is the role of Poundsgate in executing the Bush policy in Iraq? Most of the scenes in the movie are breathtaking. The location seemed real and the actors stayed true to their roles. The setting and plot of Greenzone might have been an aftermath of Iraq invasion but the war scenes are still very interesting.

The movie became interesting when it allowed a decent Iraqi named Freddie love his country. He became the translator of Matt Damon's character Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller. At first, Freddie's actions and motives seemed suspicious. Later on, it would easy for viewers to realize that his real intention is to help his country gain stability. Like any other patriotic fellow, Freddie killed the person who knew later knew the truth that there were really no weapons of mass destruction. These alleged weapons of mass destruction stored in Iraq allowed Bush administration to intervene in Iraqi's political state. Many people were thinking who or what Magellan is including Chief Roy Miller himself, the Veteran CIA operative Marty, Wall Street Journal reporter Lawrie Dayne, and others. It was Veteran CIA operative Marty told Chief Roy Miller that the said weapons of mass destruction is not existing.

In the end, Chief Roy Miller realized that General Al Rawi is Magellan, the person linked to Poundsgate for telling a false story. Hence, he chased after the general and confirmed the truth. On the other hand, Poundsgate's men also chased after General Al Rawi's group to kill them and prevent the leakage of the political secret. But, it was Freddie who killed General Al Rawi telling Chief Roy Miller that it was not the latter who should decide on what happened in that situation. After all, Freddie just want a stable and peaceful country reflecting the intents of many Iraqis that they do not want their country to be led by a puppet of the American government. Chief Roy Miller was successful in his attempt to know the truth behind Magellan and forwarded documents as proof of the errors linked to the Magellan case.

Anti-Rabies For Our Dogs

| 26 March 2010
Finally, the local authority in our place invited all dog owners for a free anti-rabies vaccine. Our Ice and Enzo are hesitant to go downstairs, and I do not know why. Some dog owners choose to wait for the doctor and others allowed their dogs to roam over the vicinity. Since our place is just right in front of the barangay hall, we just waited upstairs for the vet to call our attention. After an hour of waiting, the roll call began, and all of the dogs received anti-rabies immunization.

Anne Curtis' Boracay swimsuit malfunction

| 23 March 2010
My friends were talking about Anne Curtis' swimsuit malfunction in Boracay. Photos about the incident spread like wildfire in the web. Found some, but just left it there. I was hoping people around her must do something to stop such vicious or malicious actions. There could have been people taking pictures and even videos while the incident happened. And, there should be someone kind enough to tell her as it happened, that she suddenly had swimsuit malfunction, that is.

Viva Artist Agency, that managed her showbiz career, through general manager Veronique del Rosario-Corpus issued a statement to stop spreading the videos and photos of Anne Curtis displaying such incident. Part of such public statement reads, "It is disheartening to discover though that certain people have taken advantage of the situation, maliciously uploading the photos over the internet.  Worse, participating in the proliferation of the same over the net. We appeal to these individuals, please have a little respect and decency to stop posting the photos and distributing the same." Hope people would be kind enough to bury Anne Curtis' Boracay swimsuit malfunction and spare her from damage.

Enlightening Text Message

|
" A Scientist told God that he longer needed Him. That scientist boasted of his ability to create human being referring cloning. As God is the source of all intelligence, he challenged the scientist for creating human contest. The scientist readily agreed and took dust to start. However, God said that the scientist must produce his own dust for the contest."

Indeed, it is an enlightening text message from a friend. The message of this story is clear- we needed Him in any way. For this life to succeed, it is not wise to contend with God's power and wisdom. The scientist failed to realize that cloning is just a game for the Creator. Such knowledge is too little compared to His ability to provide a blueprint for all creations and execute the same in an orderly and grand manner. People owe everything to the Creator and it is always true that what we have are all borrowed by His grace and infinite love. For one thing, we cannot accomplish something without asking His divine guidance.

For so many times I mentioned, that there are people who do not believe in God. I respect all of them. After all, freedom to decide on all things traveled with us away from his presence when we came here on earth to live life. Being commanded to produce his own ingredients to mold man, the scientist came to a realization that all knowledge belongs to the Creator. For sure, man has yet to discover on how to produce dust firsthand. For an enlightening text message to catch my attention, it must be spiritual and worth pondering. Here, I have been reminded of my resolve to depend in my Creator in all things that I need. I just have to work hard and leave the results to Him. As mentioned, faith without work is equivalent to nothing. Hence, this enlightening text message inspired me to correct my errors as a human being and avoid the shameful fate of the scientist.

The Great Queen Seon Deok Movie Reviews

| 22 March 2010

The Shilla Dynasty has been shown for the first time in an extra-ordinary show way back in 2009, The Great Queen Seon Deok. Shown in some countries in Southeast Asia, many people were aware of the show and its power to capture the hearts of every viewer. Everyone who knew about the show searched over the web finding relevant news about the television series, most especially the actors portraying their respective roles. Although the story was swayed away from the real historical facts and figures, the writer who caused its story to be very enticing allowed all viewers to watch each and every scene with awe.
The television series, the Great Queen Seon Deok was shown as a historical drama in South Korea. Young Deokman was forced to be taken away from the palace to avoid evil Mishil’s might and influence to eliminate the royal family and place herself to power. As a twin princess, she was forced to relinquish her rights and privileges shortly after her birth just to save the royal family. For so many years, she lived a life away from the palace having an opportunity to collect experiences and knowledge to aid her future dream to rule Shilla. Apart from the political issues found in the story, the Great Queen Seon Deok allowed its viewers to feast on the culture and lifestyle of the Shilla Dynasty as the actors portrayed their roles very well both in acting and in fashion. The juiciest part is the love story of Bidam and Queen Seon Deok which originated from the time they met until their last breath. There was no happy ending of the story but the scenes blended with the right emotions were captivating and could compel viewers to cry, recall, reject, accept, and get contented.

Finally, the most captivating portrayal in the show is the character of Lady Mishil. Being an influential courtier and political strategist, she was able to forward her dream to gain the throne but failed to snatch the crown away from the Great Queen Seon Deok. Lady Mishil died killing herself after trying to gain the throne, leaving all viewers in question as to the fate of her abandoned son with King Jinji named Bidam. However, viewers were in gloom witnessing the death of Bidam ten paces away from the Great Queen Seon Deok because he led a revolution against the first female ruler of Shilla.

I am happy to note that a blogger friend inspired me again to write some posts. There are two things that made me inspired in blogging by now. First, a beautiful blogger award has been passed to me by Beanizer_05. Here is the award for me:

The next thing, Beanizer_05 wrote this on his post:

* Karen - I admire your wits. Write more.

Sometimes, I get too excited for any nice message for me. I did not even think that it could have been for another blogger with the same name. But when I visited one of my posts, Beanizer left a message that an award has been passed on to me from him.

Here are the rules:

1. Thank the person who gave you this award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic!
4. Contact the bloggers you've picked and let them know about the award.

Alright then, I would like to thank you Beanizer for this wonderful blogger award. Just then, I will also share seven things about myself.

1. I am still fervently praying for rain to visit in the place where I live.
2. Still, I do not eat turkey meat.
3. Last night, I had a dream fighting against a bad spirit. It was so scary that I had to wake up and pray hard to God for protection.
4. I do not have plans to be outside the country to work.
5. I took one test- and it could make or break my dreams and aspirations.
6. There are people who owed me a lot. It was my patience and understanding that prevented me to take revenge.
7. Inspirational fiction drama is one of my weaknesses.

I am already starving and I need to eat, so I will just divide the fifteen awards to only three people. Please forgive me for breaking the rules, I just need to eat on time.

-Five (5) for Kri * you are really a friend, your words and our memories in that city keep on running in my mind...missed you then...

Deal With Fate

|
Most people believe in destiny, just like me, they are fooled by its hopelessness. If a person would say, "you are destined to be his lover no matter what", then how would you react? There are two possible answers to this question. Looking into two perspective, I would answer the question this way: I will fight for my love no matter what, because I believe that we will end up together (that is when I am young and innocent, unable to distinguish puppy love from true love), and I will decide based on what is real and true no matter what, should there be trials and my love for him cannot withstand, it is not always true that I will be his lover no matter what (that is when I had many experiences when it comes to matters of the heart). Hence, I no longer believe in fate or destiny nowadays compared to my younger years. This time, I deal with fate fiercely.

Essentially, our hearts are glued to the possibility of loving the person of our dreams. Indeed, lucky is the girl who gets to marry the man of her dreams. But, such thing happened because of the favorable decisions of the people involved in the situation. We should not hold on to the promise that there is fate or destiny for being in love is like residing in a gambling den. Should the heart falter and throb for anyone else, fate and destiny would depart the gates of hope and broken hearts start to spread in the lawn of love gambling den. Imagine how scary it is to feel regrets and witness one's spirit to be broken because there is a late yet sudden realization that there is no such thing as fate or destiny. In short, marry the person who truly loves you and not the man of your dreams who could be just a pigment of your imagination.

There is no such things as destiny. For one thing, a person has all the freedom to decide for himself or herself. A man has the freedom to choose the girl he would love, or choose to be dictated by the people around him. All the things that had happened are the product of all the decisions linked to its eventual occurrence. We are accountable for all the decisions we made. I would like to stress a point regarding environmental degradation. For the past generations, some of them allowed the environment to be eventually destroyed. Some of them fought for environmental protection. As to who will win the race, we witnessed various natural calamities that proved the existence of environmental abuse. Maybe, only few people who decided to fight for environmental protection.

To deal with fate, people must remain versatile. There is no such thing as destiny, trust me. Leave the person behind who failed to fulfill his promises to make you happy. A woman's instinct is a useful tool in dealing with the painful process of staying true to one's self. After all, it is always reliable to depend on the love notice that it should be mind over matters of the heart. To deal with fate, the best way is to be fierce and witty. We might get hurt, but at least, we ended up whole and fulfilled than being a loser.

Barbie Xu Latest News

|
The latest about her is the release of the official trailer of the movie Future X-cops which is obviously a futuristic film. She was paired with Andy Lau in this film then. My friends kept on telling me that I am a fan of Barbie Xu when Meteor Garden fever is still on the rise way back in 2004. Accepting such fact, I see to it that I am aware of Barbie Xu latest news. I watched via Internet Love At The Corner patiently because I like her acting in that show. The story is also refreshing. At first, her character is that of a spoiled brat rich kid and able to buy all the things she wants without reserve. That is why her love interest Qin Lang called her something like "glittery princess". The pressing part of the story was when she changed a lot and able to show compassion to the people who helped her when she lived a life she never wanted- that is being poor.

At present, Barbie Xu posed for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for some ads. She mainly expressed her stand on animal cruelty. She was against killing animals for personal and commercial gain leaving them helpless. Barbie Xu showed her concern over animals killed in slaughterhouses and the they were handled. In her own words, "Animals are like my brothers and sisters, my friends and my familyI love all animals. That’s why I won’t eat them.", Barbie Xu is the perfect representative for PETA. Besides, she also mentioned that "in addition to being cruelty-free, a healthy vegetarian diet helps protect against heart disease, cancer, strokes, and other diseases—and it can help you stay slim and sexy", which explains her slim and sexy figure.

Are You A Risk Taker?

| 21 March 2010
Are you a risk taker? This was a question asked during a job interview. Most of the interviewees, including me looked at the wall in front of us after we heard the question. There were three of us and all are girls. The interviewer is a friendly female who deserved to be smiled upon because she remained cool despite our inability to find the answer to the question. For me, something is brewing inside of us as the room was filled with tension. This is the last question asked and we need to answer the same for consideration to the next stage of the job application. Indeed, are you a risk taker?

Moments later, one interviewee replied, "Yes, I am a risk taker. For the fact that I lived very far away from here, I decided to embark on this journey to join the company for some personal reasons", and the interviewer just nodded. Later on, I managed to gain more hope of giving the right answer just to end the tension. I wonder where the tension started, it is obvious, but within me, there is nothing to fear, nothing to worry. I said "Yes, I am a risk taker. I managed to apply for this job and join this stage of the application process despite the fact that the job position is not within my educational background. At least, I have the courage to learn other things amidst this competitive world". The interviewer asked another question, what other things can you offer for the company? Since it was for me to handle, all eyes are glued at me, I answered, "just the assurance that I will help fulfill the company's visions".

The interviewer did not give any comment on my answer. She suddenly became busy staring at a young girl with tears flowing in her eyes. I noticed that the tension amidst us flew in other direction and it was replaced with curiosity. Why the tears, sweetheart? This could have been the meaning of the interviewer's gaze upon the girl. The girl cried and she was sitting beside me. She blurted out that she badly needed the job in order to survive. She needs to feed her newly-born baby and she was abandoned by the father of her child. Suddenly, I knew then the correct answer of the question, are you a risk taker? However, it was too late, before I could react, the opportunity to attend the next screening process was given to the crying interviewee. I stood up with the other girls and went to Jollibee for a refreshing lunch.

What Happened To The Environment?

| 15 March 2010
A question that anyone could ask- what happened to the environment? As people continued existence, the environment is also affected by their progress in a continuous manner. In this country, it is my opinion that more trees were cut against those that are planted by concerned citizens. The environment was like deformed and revamped intentionally and unintentionally for so long. When people are trying to achieve progress and development, more and more changes were made to the environment. Then, what happened to the environment?

Compared to my younger years, there are a lot of news concerning flash floods, mud slides, land slides, and other natural calamities at this time. During the time of Noah, the environment is still in a balanced situation, but still a flood destroyed the people. The primary reason it happened is the fact that people at that no longer listen to God and violence sprouted all over the land. Noah was asked to build an ark in accordance with the design that was given to him for survival during the flood. At present, what are the indications that God wanted us to survive from any natural calamity that only Him could stop? We need to plant more trees. We must place our garbage at a proper disposal area. In such a way, asking what happened to the environment will just become a mere thought and not an alarming retort.

There was an article that talks about a certain civilization that was eventually erased on the face of the earth. The people who belong in that civilization started to neglect their responsibilities to take of the environment and they allowed environmental or ecological imbalance. As a result, people begun to starve because food production was affected by such neglect. Nature took away what it originally owned- the balance of the ecology. That civilization eventually lost in existence since people keep on dying everyday. With that, this should not happen to the future generation. Many years from now, no one should ask the same question again- what happened to the environment?

Save Mother Earth, plant more trees.

And The Journey Is Not Yet Complete

| 14 March 2010
Indeed, the journey is not yet complete. This morning is a witness that life is a cycle under heaven. People are still in the process of healing and repentance. While some of them are not yet aware of your presence in their lives, I know that you care for the entire humanity. For this morning, I am grateful for this opportunity to share my thoughts to Thee. This accounting for the experiences I passed by, for the happiness shared with loved ones, and the trials that made us strong. The bountiful and abundant life that we were blessed with, despite the emerging economic crisis, Thou presence in indeed remarkable. We are grateful for the continuous guidance and reminders, that in this lifetime, we are always given the chance to live in accordance with Thy will. And most of all, I am grateful for the additional day given to me, to write this blog in faith. For tomorrow, I do not know if my existence will still be lighting. The candle of life in my stead is in Thy hands, I know. And I am aware that life must go on and that the journey is not yet complete.

For this day, I hope I will be granted with the serenity to live my life to the fullest. My hope and enthusiasm may always be filled with the brimming cup of faith- that one day I will be in Thy presence. I had been a victim of sins, and I am also a sinner. The people around me are feeling the same way. For this morning, forgiveness is what we clamored deep in our hearts. For the peace in the community, warning when there will be calamity, and comfort for the afflicted, are the things that we handed over Thy power and mercy. There were people around the world who were in their beds, praying to heal their sickness. Thy grace may be showered upon them for the aid that they wanted. For them, the journey is not yet complete no matter how painful their diseases may be. I will close this with a promise that when the day dawn remains to be brighter in my life, I will always remember Thy profound influence upon us and that the endpoint of all these cycles, will be unfolded in Thy infinite justice and mercy. Indeed, the journey is not yet complete. Tomorrow is but another day, I hope.
