Three Valuable Tips for Mountain Climbers

| 23 September 2014

These days, mountain climbing is a valuable activity for backpackers. It has become part of day tours offered in many resorts and vacation houses. Aside from island hopping and visiting places such as Cavite resorts, mountain climbing is also another worthwhile activity.

For those who love the sport, preparing for such activity is an exciting task. Since there are essential things to remember while enjoying mountain climbing, let’s talk about it one by one.

1. Check the weather forecasts. On high ground, mist and rain can close in with a frightening speed. This is very dangerous so it’s necessary to be very careful and watchful.

2. Always leave word where you are going and when you expect to return. Don’t forget to bring compass, too.

3. Turn back if the weather deteriorates or if a route is proving too much for a companion or for the group. No wonder it’s necessary to be mindful of the weather. Avoid slippery areas to stay safe all the time.

 4. Many mountain tracks are not shown on the map but do use those you find heading in your direction.

5. Take survival aids – a whistle, first-aid kit and a flashlight. Bring water, extra t-shirt and snacks.

Four Hiking Tips to Remember

|

The days we spent at Cogon Eco-Park are absolutely fun and exciting. We had many activities such as swimming in the river, hiking in the woods, visiting a well-known resort such as Watercamp Resort in Cavite and team building workshops. However, our favorite activity is hiking in the woods with other participants and climbing up on a very tall tree house. With that in mind, we’ve gathered the four tips for hikers to help you enjoy your own adventure.

1. Don’t forget to get off highways when resting. We know that highways are very dangerous. There are many accidents that happen in that area anywhere.

2. Stay away from the bank of swiftly moving water and places where there might be quicksand. During our tour, we didn’t swim in the river without go signal from our guide. We’re afraid of being drowned or lost in the forest. Since swiftly moving water is common in hiking trails, we’re very careful as we trail along.

3. Stay with your group and obey instructions of the leader. Never go off planned route into strange swamps, woods or fields. This tip is very important for group leaders. Don’t allow the participants to step on restricted areas for obvious reasons.

4. Decide on a place to go, how to get there and how to get home, the number of participants and the supplies needed. During the planning process, create an orientation guide before the tour. The participants must be aware of the rules before the hiking activity.

Our recent hiking trip was successful because we followed the rules given by our guide. We didn’t roam around unknown areas in the park.

Bus Rental Philippines and Planning for Family Travel

| 04 September 2014

Are you planning for a holiday family trip? What are your plans? I’d like to talk about planning for family travel during holidays. After all, the holiday season is on our way and we’re so excited to make it special.

Let’s get started.

Book your travel tickets a month before departure

If you’re traveling with your family by plane, it is advisable to book your tickets ahead of time. It is one way to save money because plane ticket promos are offered usually ahead of your departure.

If you’re planning to hire a bus, research about Bus Rental Philippines and ask for recommendations. Many companies offer bus for rent services for holiday trips to nearby provinces.

Prepare your travel documents

I included this item because there may be plans for family trips abroad. Make sure that all your travel documents are complete, including screen shots of passports or visa as issued for the trip.

Pack up early

Before preparing for your luggage, create a checklist of the items that you need to bring such as clothes, accessories, toiletries, swimming attire and extra t-shirts. Don’t forget to bring your camera, chargers and flash light for the trip.

Bring extra things such as face towels, water and snacks

During trips, extra snacks and water is necessary, especially if kids are traveling with you. Don’t forget the first aid kit because it’s essential in case unavoidable circumstances happen.
