This post should have been written during the month of love. However, something crossed my mind while reviewing this blog. There should be a post that reflects a story that a friend thought to be some nice endless love stories. Here is the full article--"There was an old man who used to wait for someone in a bench at the park. He was not that old enough to forget the place. He brought with him some food and a hat placed in a small bag. Out of curiosity, I went closer to the old man. I wanted to talk to him and ask him why he always stay in the park almost everyday.
When I seated beside the old man, he smiled at me. I started a conversation. After so many words, I finally asked him this one vital question in my mind: Why are you here in this bench almost everyday?
The old man answered: "I had once loved a girl when I was nineteen. We decided to get married, but her parents would not approve. That girl belongs to a different race. She is half-Japanese and half-Filipino. She was brought to Japan in order to be separated from me. Before she left, she promised me that she would come back. And that we will meet here in the bench. Now that I am old, I am still willing to wait for her. You will never know, even her spirit would fulfill her promise".
This endless love story is based on reality. Endless love stories are rare to happen just like this one. One lesson that I learned from this: Love must be genuine enough to move mountains. The old man is very faithful to the extent of forgetting himself. Would the woman he loved know it? No matter what, love must be genuine."
Personally, I consider endless love stories as worth reading. But then I thought, would it happen to me, or to my children? Who knows? Until then...
