This is my 155th post so I'll post wishful things in here. I mean, I'll post the things that I'd like to have this Christmas no matter how expensive these things are. I like jewelries.  Just by being positive, I'll have any or all of these awesome things. Or maybe, anything close to these is alright. :) I wish for beads or fine jewelries, I must say.

Barbie Xu Latest News

Here's Barbie Latest News post for today. I'm sure most of my readers knew that I'm a huge fan of Barbie. I had at least three blog posts about her. So let's start to explore the world of Barbie Xu (latest news) right at this moment.

First, it was reported that Barbie temporarily pauses filming new movie because of her injured right hand. The injury was specifically named as musculospiral nerve inflammation. According to my favorite website AsosOnline, "Barbie’s right hand is serious，she can not write, and can not hold chopsticks, no esthesis byacupuncture, but she didn’t forget to update her mini-blog to share her emotions." This is really a sad news knowing that Barbie usually gives her best in every movie or television show that she had worked on.


Gladly, it was reported recently that Barbie has come back to work dated October 17, 2010 in the morning.


This is not a recent news about Barbie Xu, but I'd like to post it here. According to AsosOnline, "Barbie Xu, accepted the award for Best Film Actress (Taiwan) for her role in “Forbidden City Cop” (On His Majesty’s Secret Agent) during The Channel V’s 14th Chinese Music Awards and Asian Influence Award held in Chengdu, China. The awards night was graced with big stars in Chinese music and the entertainment industry." It just shows that her acting really improved at this time. She deserves this award.



Finally, Barbie Xu turns 34 last October 6, 2010. I'd like to wish a Happy Belated Birthday for Barbie. So younger looking, so beautiful.

For Arnold

Back to the days when I experimented my destiny for a decade, when in fact, I just have to choose one best way- I met you. Of all my guy friends, you're so different. You're easy to understand, especially when I gaze at those mysterious eyes. But, you're the most unpredictable. Don't get me wrong, I really like you as a friend during those days. That was also the time that you've seen my "true" self- fierce, genuine and resilient. I don't know if you still remember how much I cared, even when you're easy to neglect some glaring sigh, wish and hope.

I remember one time looking at those group of guys dancing to the tune of "I can't remember". You're so amazing before my very eyes while I'm afar left unnoticed. Fraternity moments? No, that was when you're about to enroll law school. But at least, you invited me to meet your family during your graduation. That was a blast! Really. So, how's your Mom? You once said she's looking for me. However, the reasons why I'm so harsh on you lately are glaring facts of past heartache, confusion and resolution. Your friends, our friends, our brothers and sisters don't know that I had both good and bad times with you. It seems like it's essential to ignore and get trampled upon.

I was there hoping to be ushered home by a friend because it's getting too late and I'm not feeling well. But I was left alone. No one understood how much I needed security in that fateful moment. There were times that some things were questionable but I ignored the signs. All were drawn in that magical evening, yet I'm glad it happened because I finally had the courage to decide on my next step, freedom. That's freedom without you and my trusting heart.

Don't worry. I never felt ashamed and regretful being your friend. It led me to a perfect place and opportunity to truly love a Priesthood holder. He's aware of you because I'm always convinced that you're really a best friend no matter what.

So, here I am. Please excuse me for being fair. You knew why I'm so mad at you. I mean, I'm so disappointed yet happy that I had the chance to learn many things because of you. In fairness, I still remember your songs with a guitar, your brother, Angelo, everything, all things about you but never "us". I got to know Julie Ann, Angelo's wife, your Mom and you became my brother via MKP.

I wish you all the happiness that this temporary life could offer. Since eternity is what I want the next life- I never hesitated to go far away from you to be with Corsene, only to get married to Rex. I'll I want is an eternal family, being a lawyer happens only when God allows. Also, I'm grateful for the good times. Remember, you're one of the people who made my life so colorful and interesting. Isn't it a blessing? Indeed.

Congress Has Few Questions For Facebook

Most of my friends are Facebook users. I also use Facebook, although sparingly. We're not allowed to use Facebook in the office and when I'm at home, my husband usually stays too long in the home office corner for Facebooking. A few hours ago, I've read about "Congress Has A Few Questions For Facebook" via SEO Centro. I never thought that there are certain issues that the giant social networking site needs to answer.

It was Reps. Ed Markey of Massachusetts and Joe Barton of Texas who asked the said questions and sent letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg based on the recent Wall Street Journal where it was stated that third party Facebook apps were selling off user information. Facebook is expected to give a full response by next week.

Here are some of the questions:

When did Facebook become aware of this series of privacy beaches?

What procedures do you have in place to detect and/or prevent third-party applications that may breach the terms of Facebook’s privacy policy?

To what extend has Facebook determined that data relating to minors 17 years of age and under were breached?

I Remebered The Woman Who Changed My Heart

It's weird that I remembered a person who twisted my life's journey out of destiny or maybe just a coincidence. She's really pretty, yet every time I remember her, fear starts to settle within me. Why? I see her as a venomous snake. Not her really, but her attitude. Let me explain why and I'll use my talent in writing to keep it discreet as it should be.

I had a moment in my life that I was so happy I met a person who knew me very well. We clicked in almost any topic, had long talks, shared the Gospel, planned together and shared dreams. I'm aware that it could be a dream that was meant to prepare me to face a life that's different. But I loved every moment I'm with him. Why I'm certain of this? I dreamed of him before I met him. It's unbelievable. Yet, the moment I agreed to live a life that has been planned by God for me, everything changed.

The woman who changed my heart heart secretly fell in love with 'him". It's me, the girl and the man played this awful scenario of unfaithfulness, pain and moving on. She always takes care of me when I'm around without me knowing that she's checking if me and the man were still connected, hearts still combined in that dream I'd already known. No, she didn't know that the man fell apart but still with me. There was a happy moment to talk about a marriage. There was an exciting gush to prepare for a future together. There was me and the man she longed to love. I'm skeptical about the marriage, especially when worry and wisdom filled mt heart and soul.

There was a slight indifference in all the connection I had with him when the same girl appeared in the picture. Then, the mysterious marriage proposal became a tragedy which changed my heart forever. No more trusting, no more hoping, no more traitor friends. With all the energy I could muster, I gave him the choice he always had. I'm already on my way to love another person who is so faithful and God-fearing. I'm sure there were tears falling in his eyes when I finally turned my back, and laughter roared behind me when I said "The dream is over. Go back to reality. There, you'll never see me again to take care of you so dearly. There, she's going to ruin your reputation. I hope, not. Because a part of you remains with me".

There was a dreaded silence. There was an impending call to remain true. But the union of two dreamers can never happen. That's why I'll always think that I shouldn't fall in love with a dreamer.

Now, all that's left is reminder. Never be with someone who likes to love a snake. I cannot. Because I hate snakes. Ask my sister, if it's unbelievable. Lastly, don't trust a guy to a suspicious girl. Believe me, you'll get unnoticed. The world will betray you.

Anti Cancer Vegetables

Here in My Regency, we will talk about anti cancer vegetables today. Lately, I'm so conscious with what I eat knowing that there are several dreaded diseases that are caused by inappropriate lifestyle and eating habits. I learned this idea from my husband. Since I love cooking, I made sure that I'm  aware of the anti cancer vegetables.

For reference or documentation purposes, I'll make a list here of the anti cancer vegetables that I researched online. According to Health Castle, vegetables with the highest anti cancer activity includes garlic, cabbage, soy, ginger and umbelliferous vegetables such as carrots, celery, cilantro, parsley and parsnip. With respect to vegetables with the modest anti cancer activities, we have onions, flax seed, citrus, cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower and solanaceous vegetables such as tomato and peppers.

Most of the vegetables listed here are my favorite. I've used some of them in my recipes at home. There's a need to eat at least five servings of these vegetables everyday in order to enjoy the benefits. Have a nice day!

Party Ideas for Kids

I'd like to talk about party ideas for kids. When I attended Vanessa Helena's or Yna's birthday party, I was impressed with how it was prepared. By the way, Yna is my god daughter. I've been invited by her Mom Vanessa to be one. Despite my busy schedule, I attended Yna's first birthday and baptism with my husband. The theme of the party is full of purple hues. It's like Dora The Explorer party. The guests are mostly the parents' office mates at work.

Going back to the party, I'm fascinated with the program of activities. If you're looking for perfect party ideas for kids between one year old and eight years old, it's nice to pattern your theme with famous children shows, mostly about princesses, princes, cool kids like Dora, and Peter Pan. Yna is so lucky to have her guests enjoy the hilarious spiels of the clowns they invited to host the party. I really laughed out loud every time the clowns exchange funny remarks.

Death of Diana, Princess of Wales

I felt like talking about the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. She's one of my favorite famous personalities when I was a kid. I heard about her death when I was in high school while taking a nap. I woke up and inquired from friends about the news of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.

I have also a college classmate, Christina, who is an ardent fan of Princess Diana. She knows all things about the Princess, favorite gowns, food, her children, love story with Prince Charles, heartaches, and even plans for the future. Since she's one of my close friends in college, I got hooked with Princess Diana, too. Why? I always hear her talk about the Princess.

The death of Diana, Princess of Wales are surrounded by different versions of the cause of the car accident. She was with Dodi Fayed at the time the accident happened. They were followed on by several paparazzi, which were all arrested moments after the accident happened because their presence could be a reason of the fatal car accident.

Home Office Design Inspiration

I have so many writing assignments lately and I really need a light-colored home office. It should be functional enough to hold my books, paper works, magazines, and other office materials. I have tons of magazines to pile and books to arrange, so I really need to have a nice home office design inspiration. I also want to decorate the area with things that I created and collected for years.

Hence, I'm planning to have a small yet functional home office. I want it beside our sleeping nook, though. Since then, I've been looking for home office design inspiration in the Internet. I found tons of design inspiration for home offices. Some are designed with purely white colors, some are pink, and the most popular is usually draped with green hue. My personal favorite is home office design for smaller areas. I'm so inspired with the design that's made for a small table, book shelf, and other office items.  

I found a really nice home office design inspiration online just yesterday. I'd like to post it here for me to check from time to time. The design is not unique but the materials used are so inspiring. It's also good for smaller areas. I like the color combination of the design, but I'm planning to include light pink color and also lavender hue.

Invisalign Treatment Over Traditional Braces

I'm going to write another post about Invisalign treatment, and this time via My Regency. I've researching about this product for documentation. I noticed that many orthodontists in the US offer this dental service or treatment. Basically, its for crooked teeth and applicable for teens and adults. I asked my dentist if this treatment is available in the country, but his answer is in the negative.

Invisalign treatment is also designed to achieve a perfect smile. Compared to traditional wires or braces, Invisalign is invisible, meaning it's not obvious if a patient is wearing Invisalign braces. It's also made of plastic and must be worn six to eight months, depending on the needs of the patient. Upon consultation, the orthodontist will take pictures of the patient's teeth and uploaded in the computer. Through 3d effects, a treatment plan can be made for the patient. Meaning, this course of treatment consists of a set of clear aligners that are molded to fit your teeth using a proprietary technology. Patients wear them all day and night, except for meals, brushing, and flossing – when you can easily slip them out to make eating and cleaning a snap.

What Happened Before This Post

I realized that I have no post in this blog for a long time. At this time, I decided to just write a few things that happened before this post. I will just write it in a list form:

1. Last month, our dog Enzo got sick. We brought Enzo to his vet immediately knowing that it has been three days that he had not eaten food, and even have a taste of water. Days later, he's back again, running and playing within the lawn with Ice.He also learned what ("Ba-bye!) means, every time he would hear that word, he will go directly to where his leash is attached and stare at me for him to go out with a leash in his collar.

2. One of my favorite blog is April Athena's Blog. It's actually a beauty blog. What I like about this blog is the obvious enthusiasm of the blogger to share her beauty tips, sale, giveaways, news, and other matters related to beauty. Her Youtube video channel is also linked in her blog. I hope she post some product reviews with giveaways for international readers soon.

3. I watched Karate Kid with my husband to unwind. And then, we attended a birthday party of my friend's daughter. I enjoyed so much the party for the clowns are really, really funny. The video is also very captivating, nice view, and so accessible.

4. I started buying hanging plants yesterday. I also planted ampalaya last week. I really enjoyed growing vegetables in the backyard. Thankfully, our dogs just stayed in the front door for them not to play with my plants.

My Regency Dream Home

At the age of 28, it was my dream to get married. It happened as dreamed. Before I reach 30 years old, I dreamed to have my own home, under my name. It also happened. By this time, I already finalized my dream for the next ten years of my life. Life is often difficult, but I still believe in God and His infinite mercy and unconditional love. I know, everything will happen in the right order.

As horrible as it may seem, I never imagined that something bad will happen to a nearest kin. I work for justice, but he chose to forget it. This time, I really learned that parents must take good care and rear their children to guide them on the right path. Our choices in every moment will affect our future. Hence, we must deal with life prepared and open-minded.


Gong back to my dreams, I will work hard to achieve everything I envisioned for myself and my family. One of my dreams is a dream home, a place where I can still live life to the fullest. I am praying for good health and nice job to help me reach for my dreams. There may be failures, but then the fact that I am still alive, there is hope.

Natalie Portman as a Cognitive Neuroscientist

The Star Wars queen Natalie Portman is amazing. I am amazed in her portrayal and stellar performance in Star Wars and also her academic achievement. She is also the beautiful Sara in Cold Mountain and "V" for Vendetta. According to a 2007 report, she left her acting career sometime on year 2000 to pursue a Psychology degree. You can google these keywords "Natalie Portman cognitive neuroscientist" to look for reports on the topic.

Natalie's real name is Natalie Hershlag. She was a co-author of a scientific paper on the subject neuroscience of child development. She did the project while in Harvard. She was also employed as an assistant in Prof Stephen Kosslyn's  neuropsychology lab. There, she got involved in a study investigating the link between frontal lobe development and visual knowledge in infants. The paper was eventually published in the journal Neuroimage, under Natalie's real name, with the title 'Frontal lobe activation during object permanence: data from near-infrared spectroscopy'.

The Study

The study investigated object permanence  - the ability to understand that objects do not disappear from the world when they are out of sight, something that typically develops in the first year of life.

Researchers have argued that the frontal lobes are particularly important for this skill, but the trouble is, you can't put babies in conventional brain scanners to easily test the idea. They just wriggle about too much.

Portman's study, led by neuroscientist Dr Abigail Baird, used a relatively new method for measuring brain function called near-infrared spectroscopy.

The Results

The team discovered that the frontal lobes suddenly kicked in when children develop the knowledge that hidden objects still exist, providing an understanding of which brain areas are involved in this important mental function.

The study also demonstrated that near-infrared spectroscopy could be used successfully to study the brain development of very young children.
