At the beginning of July, BSIDED launches 40 news pairs of espadrilles for the Spring Summer collection 2011, on sales at www.bsided.com.
In 2004, Stéphane Bucco aka Sockho revisits the rope-soled sandal, a big event in this universe, by creating the brand The String Republic and by bringing graphics touches on this kind of canvas. Due to his great success, Stéphane joined to Mathieu aka Demooim in 2008 to launch one of the most original concept : BSIDED. The concept of this artificial sneaker is really simple : a classic and traditional rope-soled sandal but which dresses in a more streetwear and funky style in its design, by playing with the effect of the trompel’oeil, and letting grimpse a product which is at the middle road between the traditional rope-soled sandal and the sneaker.
The added value of BSIDED : designed in France and made in the Basque Country, with an extra-care about the fabric selection. The sole in made in rubber to stiffen and protect the bottom of the rope-soled sandal. As a matter of fact, they are made to keep a maximum of lightness and comfort for the foot ! So the challenge is considerable : put back with the current tastes the rope-soled sandals with a side rather original and which will be certainly the fashionable accessory in the future !
